24 Hour Cyclothon
Due to the great success of this event introduced in 2015 we have decided to run this event for a second year. With an aim to smash last years result! We also plan to raise even more money for a different chosen charity.
What is a 24 hour Cyclothon?
We aim to cycle a targeted distance on 3 spin bikes over a period of 24 hours.
Date: TBC (during the Autumn Term)
New Target= See how far we can cycle across Europe!
Canterbury to Paris- 380km
Paris to Milan - 900km
Milan to Budapest - 950km
Budapest to Kiev- 1100km
Last year we undertook this challenge on the University campus (by Venue). To expand this year we will be in Canterbury City Centre instead.
Nearer to the event we will post details about the confirmed date and exact location.
For riders interested in taking part we will also post a spreadsheet for riders to sign up to cycle on the spin bikes during different slots throughout the 24 hours. It would be great for all members of the club could be involved, by just sparing 1 hour out of their day so we can hit our target! And raise money for a great charity!
Target = Cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End (1,500km)
Achieved = Cycled from John O'Groats to Lands End. Lands End to Canterbury. Canterbury to Paris + another 130 miles. A total of 1,592 miles (2,562 km)
We also raised a total of £728.98 for the Brain Tumour Charity.
