This is for anyone with a bike who wants to cycle in a group. Note: - Learn/ practice to cycle safely on the roads by taking part in Cycling Proficiency lessons at UKC Cycling. - Good way to improve fitness. - Good way to meet new people and explore the local area. - It is possible to hire a bike for free from the Cycle Hub
Routes and distance will be published on the club FB page before every ride so make sure you join here - UKC Cycling 2017-18
Group rides Rides will set off at 1:30pm on Wednesdays and Sundays. There will be a selection of leaders, taking it in turns to lead the rides from a pool of routes.
Winter rides include a mid-ride café stop
Summer rides include:
- Stopping off for fish and chips - Routes planned involving sightseeing or places of interest (eg. Rides to Reculver Castle, Stodmarsh National Park, and other coastal towns).
Ride Lengths Typically 15-30 miles (and will include breaks) Roughly 1-2 hours long Please listen and abide to all commands given by the ride leader to ensure your own and others safety throughout the ride. Ride leaders are likely to tell you to when to ride in either single or double lines depending on the road and conditions.
