New for 2016/17 we are introducing a new Internal Club Competition! There will be medals for the Male and Female winner in each event and an All Rounders Trophy at the end of the year.
A leaderboard will be posted inside the Members Only Section of the website.
Below are details of some of the events planned; we have tried to include a vast range of events so that riders with all different interests within the club can all get involved.
Dates will be posted on the Facebook group page closer to the time. The current events proposed are: Longest Track Stand - Whoever can do the Longest Track Stand (remaining still on the bike without moving forward or back, or falling off) will get the most points. Inner Tube Change - The person who can remove the wheel, replace the Inner tube, pump the tyre up to 100psi and put the wheel back in the bike will gain the most points. Easiest Gear Race - A 500 meter race in your bikes easiest gear, whoever crosses the line first gets the most points. Obstacle Course - A race through an obstacle course, whoever completes the course in the quickest time will get the most points. Cycling based Quiz - An individual quiz. however many of the 20 questions you get right is how many points you get, an extra 2 points are up for grabs to the person(s) who gets the most questions right. Baking Competition - Whoever can make the best bake will get the most points. The bakes are judged by the committee on 'Cyclingness', 'Taste', 'Texture' and 'Finish'. Segment Race - A race of 300 meters in distance whoever completes the course in the quickest time wins. 10 Mile TT - A race of 10 miles, whoever completes it in the shortest time wins. Hill Climb - A race up a climb in Canterbury, quickest time wins. Head to head Race - A race of 30 minutes in Teams of 4, each team will consist of riders of different abilities and points will be award to the team who gets a member across the line first and points for which entire team crosses the line first.
Unless stated otherwise points will be awarded for the top 10 contestants in each event. The contestant with the most points after the final event wins overall.
*As this is the first year, there may be some adaption of the events that do take place but this is what we have in mind so far!
